Maurizio's tower is located on the corner of Piazza del Duomo in
Orvieto. It dates back to the 14th C and was built by order of Opera del
Duomo. It was the first mechanic clock of Europe and the mechanism
was realized with 285 pounds of iron by a clock master of Orvieto. On
the top was placed a bronze automaton to punctuate the hours.
It beats every 15 minutes.
