Belcaro is one of the most splendid fortified villa of the 14th
C which remain to us. From the beautiful rampart over the
age-old ilexes there is today one of the most splendid
views of Siena, with the city herself in the distance. In a
small room at the end of this noble pacing is a picture if the
Madonna with Saints by Cozzarelli.
Peruzzi's frescos in
the chapel have been spoilt, but in a chamber on the
ground-floor of the fortification is a ceiling frescoed by his
hand with the Judgment of Paris.
