Todi, interesting city of art, medieval-looking, characterized by narrow and winding streets, in a wonderful position on a hill, overlooking the Tiber river Valley. Famous for roman and Etruscan ruins, for the palaces, the churches and for its characteristic urban environment,  Todi is the city famous for offering the "best way of life" in the world. Todi conserves, almost intact, visible signs from the Middle-Ages, the Renaissance buildings designed by famous Italian artists, but above all to experience the pleasure of discovering the jewels of the city, closed for years, but that have been restored and are now waiting  to be admired.

  • The heart of the city:
    Piazza Vittorio Emanuele is one of the most beautiful piazzas of Italy and still conserves its medieval structure. It is delimited by some important palaces like: Palazzo dei Priori, Palazzo del Popolo, Palazzo del Capitano, and, at the bottom of the piazza, on a flight of steps, the Cathedral. Pictures
     

  • The Cathedral
    Set on a 29 step stairwell, the beautiful Gothic-Style facade of the 13th century cathedral, with three portals and three rose windows.   The bell tower is on the right side.  Inside there is a beautiful ligneous choir. Pictures
       

  • Palazzo dei Priori Pictures
     

  • Palazzo del Capitano
    Gothic-Style, built in 1290. With its windows it's a very elegant palace. Nowadays it hosts the museum, which preserves Etruscan, Roman and medieval relics,  very interesting frescoes and collections of paintings from the 15th, 16th, 17th and 18th centuries. Pictures
     

  • Palazzo del Popolo
    Joined with the Capitano's Palace, and with which it divides a beautiful flight of steps, it was built in 1200. To one side there is the bell-tower, built in 1330, on which, in 1523, was set a fine clock. Pictures
     

  • Santa Maria della Consolazione is Todi's most striking church. It is  is located  on the flank of the hill. It has a beautiful renaissance dome. Pictures
     

  • San Fortunato
    Gothic-Style church, built in 1292. On the sides of the facade there are two Romanesque lions. On the left side, the bell-tower. Inside there are a ligneous choir and a fresco by Masolino da Panicale, the "Madonna col Bambino e due Angeli" (Madonna with Child and two Angels). In the crypt beneath the presbytery are preserved the the remains of Jacopone da Todi, are preserved one of the most important figures of Italian literature. Pictures
