The Museum is set in the interior of the Palazzo Vescovile of the small hamlet Murlo, a real medieval castle. The Museum preserves the Etruscan remains from the nearby Etruscan site of Poggio Civitate where a princely house was find and from the necropolis of Poggio Aguzzo.

The Antiquarium displays remains that bear witness Etruscan life offering a complete outlook of the Etruscan civilization. Worthy of note is a rare find called" The Etruscan Cow Boy", a statue of man that looks like a Cow Boy. The museum is also the seat of a restoration laboratory and since many years seminars and workshops about working techniques are organized there.
