from that of a community in the province of Lecce, which is
the center of its production. Since ancient time, this
territory has been a major center of winemaking. Its

Copertino Rosso, especially the Riserva, can be considered
one of the leading premium wines of the Salento. |

intensity with light orange shandings when aged; vinous and
persistent odor; dry, sapid, generous and velvety flavor

tending at times to tenuous cherry pink; lightly vinous,
distinctive and appropriately persistent odor; dry flavor
with no harshness but with a grassy background and a
pleasantly bitterish aftertaste |
